- Act no. 91/1999 – ‘Provisions Concerning Organ and Tissue Collection and Transplantation’.
- Ministerial decree no. 78 dated 25 January 2001 – ‘Features and Arrangements Applying to the Donation of Blood and Blood Derivatives’.
- ‘Code of practice applying to the processing of personal data for statistical and scientific purposes’ – adopted by a decision of the Italian DPA no. 2 dated 16 June 2004, and published in Italy’s Official Law Journal dated 14 August 2004, no. 190.
- A “General Authorisation for the Processing of Genetic Data (English version)” has been issued on 22 Feb 2007 by the Italian Data Protection Authority which applies to the processing of genetic data, and also to the collection and use of biological samples. This originally only applied until 31 December 2008, but this was extended following the Garante decision of 19th december 2008, to 31 December 2009.
Guidance
